Application Security Architect
Location: London
Salary: £85,000 – £90,000 per annum base plus 15% bonus
Our clients are working with a global e-commerce firm that is seeking a highly competent, committed, and passionate architect who will strengthen the Application Security Architecture team, as they build the defensible application security architectures to protect the customers, partners, and colleagues.
The Role
The Application Security Solution Architecture team, part of the larger cyber security group at a global e-commerce company, defines security architecture patterns for cloud-native services, delivers security design artifacts, develops security standards, and leads the adoption of these patterns in development projects across all departments.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in Security Architecture and Design projects, including Threat Modelling for strategic platforms and modern software architectures.
- Lead security architecture decisions and guide the implementation of security measures for critical systems.
- Promote and ensure the adoption of Security and Privacy by Design principles across architecture and development teams.
- Conduct feasibility studies for design options, providing informed decision support.
- Define security controls, policies, and configurations to strengthen platform runtime environments.
- Identify and address inherent security threats by defining and improving platform security design requirements.
- Review architectural changes and enhancements, delivering expert security design advisory.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Apps/API threat modelling and in-depth technical security assessments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker containers, and preferably GitHub Actions or other CI/CD frameworks.
- Strong understanding of application design flaws and gaps across various architectures.
- Familiarity with modern SDLC methodologies and technologies.
- Collaborative experience with software architects, product leaders, and cross-functional security teams.
