Mechanical Engineer needed for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Edinburgh who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in an Mechanical Discipline and have a keen interest in mechanical engineering. If you have previously worked in an healthcare environment that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:
- Responsibility for Pre Planned Maintenance Tasks ensuring they are completed timeously to the relevant Service Level Agreements; Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards appropriate to the assets.
- Responsibility for ongoing Reactive and associated works ensuring they are completed timeously to the Relevant Service Level Agreements; Key Performance Indicators and the relevant Standards appropriate to the assets.
- Compliance with all statutory requirements in relation to safe working practices and safe operation of plant, equipment and services and all activities essential to meet all relevant (Scottish) Health Technical Memoranda (S)HTM) and Quality Assurance requirements.
- Advising the Mechanical Supervisor with any technical input on the assets within the Mechanical Departments remit.
- Developing local knowledge of the site and associated plant within your scope.
- Stepping in when required to help cover the shift engineer\’s sickness/holidays etc. (Additional allowance included)
What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Discipline is essential.
- A good standard of Secondary Education, including Maths and English, along with a flexible approach to working within a team.
- Experience in HVAC systems or comparable training and a working knowledge of these systems would be advantageous.
- Previous experience within a Healthcare Environment would be greatly advantageous.
- Holds or has held a relevant Appointed Persons Status. Or be prepared to undertake relevant AP training.
- Working Knowledge of the appropriate Standards including Scottish Health Technical Memorandums.
