Barnsley Council have a unique opportunity for a Vehicle Technician in Fleet Services, based within the busy vehicle repair workshop at Smithies Lane Depot – this is your chance to be a part of council services delivered within the community based in Barnsley. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,412 – £38,220 per annum.
We are looking for a professional vehicle technician with a proven track record of providing inspections, maintenance and repairs across a diverse and challenging fleet whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of quality.
Someone who has shown the ability to work to strict deadlines, provide accurate and detailed information whilst upholding the highest possible standards of health and safety.
Being part of a team of technicians tasked with providing the best £ for £ local authority maintenance function possible and support our Zero 40 Zero Carbon strategy by transitioning the Fleet towards EV.
Using your extensive experience as a vehicle technician, you will contribute to providing management information which will help inform decisions and set priorities in what can be a highly challenging environment with conflicting demands.
You will also be expected to offer help and guidance to peers and new recruits, helping to promote the councils values and beliefs.
