As an Architect at HDR, you will work on projects in various sectors, focusing on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors across our global practice, primarily in the United Kingdom and European regions.

In the role of an Architect, we will count on you to:

  • Have recent experience working on diverse and complex infrastructure projects (including data centres, mission critical, and science/technology).
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications.
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives, investigating a limited set of variables.
  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction but without immediate supervision, with limited design responsibility.
  • Recommend and select procedures.
  • Write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications – Required

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field.
  • Registered Architect (ARB).
  • 3-5 years of practical industry experience.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Experience with data centres, mission-critical facilities, science, and technology projects.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, self-organization, and ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Interest or experience in sustainable design/LEED.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3D Studio Max.
  • Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven graphic presentation skills.
  • Experience in preparing architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Good knowledge of codes and planning skills.
