WHAT TO EXPECT
Drive the difference as a Charging System Quality Leader, where you will be responsible for a team of Quality Engineers working on the Root cause investigation, documentation, problem definition and Level 1 analysis of issues affecting the charging system.
You will investigate and drive the resolution of current quality issues reported through the JLR Quality tools & metrics – on a timely basis. Develop and Implement Containments (ICAs), Permanent Corrective Actions (PCAs) & mitigate the warranty cost for the issues out in the market by reducing the cost of repair in Service.
You will lead the generation of plans to deliver our Quality targets for the charging system – focusing on Roadside Assists (RSA/1000), Warranty (R/1000) and Cost per Unit (£CPU) and embed Prevent Recurrence actions into the D&R teams and share learning with the other Commodity Quality Leaders ensuring that there is an improvement or change to the standards, specification and DV testing.
Providing technical assistance support for system issues raised by different markets, lead root cause analysis and problem solving, and whilst monitoring Quality indicators/targets and then deliver Quality/Warranty data to different teams inside/outside of the department of all JLR EV charging systems. This will include EV charging systems for legacy and current vehicles.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Timely support of Technical Assistance requests from the market teams
- Issue Identification and triage for the failure modes that are affected by system interactions
- Optimising the guided flows and dealership information
- Leading 8D problem solving of charging quality issues impacting Roadside Assists (RSA/1000), Warranty (R/1000) and Cost per Unit (£CPU) and Prevent Recurrence
- Collaborate/Coordinate with Commodity Quality Leads, HV Systems Core System Quality Lead and interoperability
- Ensure interim and permanent fixes are implemented with urgency to meet quality targets. Ensure the fixes are validated and resolve the customer concern
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Extensive Automotive control system and power electronics experience
- A track record of resolving customer quality issues from identification to resolution
- Expert in problem definition techniques
- Good team collaboration experience, with an outcome focus
- An understanding of EV charging protocols, charging hardware and market differences
