The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.

We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer in GCSE Maths to join the team at Merton College. The focus of this role is to deliver high quality teaching in GCSE Maths, predominantly to students aged 16-19 years of age.

You’ll follow the agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules, preparing students for November and June exams, marking mock exams, providing constructive feedback, setting targets for students, monitoring attendance and student progress and, where appropriate, curriculum development. The expectation is that high levels of student attainment will be achieved.

We’d like our Lecturer to hold a degree or relevant professional qualifications in Maths or a related subject e.g. Physics, Engineering, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), and have excellent teaching skills in GCSE Maths. With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you’ll have an awareness of academic quality standards and participated in recent and relevant continuous professional development.

Able to support, motivate and empathise with students, including monitoring their progress, you’ll be receptive to new ideas and initiatives with a creative approach to problem solving. With high personal standards and expectations, you will be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning and work well under pressure to agreed deadlines. You’ll have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail.
