Morson Talent is currently seeking skilled fitters for our client in Burnley. The role involves fitting and assembling nacelle components, following detailed instructions, specifications, and standards, while adhering to safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Main Activities:

  • Observe environmental, hygiene, and safety rules.
  • Ensure proper use and validity of fixtures, tooling, and products.
  • Handle sub-assembled nacelle components to set up on work stations.
  • Assemble parts and sub-assemblies per instructions and inspect work.
  • Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting, fastening, and torqueing as per design specifications.
  • Manage shelf-life products, record batch data, and report validity.
  • Report non-conformities in assembly and related operations.
  • Fill batch cards for traceability and validate operations through inspection.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and tools.
  • Identify and report HSE issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as QRQC, waste minimization, and 5S.
  • Represent Aircelle during external repair or retrofit operations.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Regulation and safety policies.
  • Aeronautical knowledge and understanding of composite materials.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and fitting techniques.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of quality standards and rules.

Know-how:

  • Work planning, traceability, and SAP activity declaration.
  • Parts handling, fitting, shimming, drilling, and inspection.
  • Fastener installation, sealing, functional testing, and packaging.
  • Adherence to HSE rules and proper documentation.
  • Preventative maintenance and workstation organization.

Qualifications:

  • Self-inspection qualification.
  • Recognized craft or technical apprenticeship (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC).

  • Precision work, dexterity, autonomy, teamwork, professionalism, carefulness, and rigor.
  • Impact assessment, PPE usage, and computer skills.
