Are you a Laser Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with a background in mechanical, electrical or optical systems, looking to step away from the tools and move into a technical Helpdesk role with a global OEM?

This is an exciting opportunity to transition into an office-based engineering support role, offering a better work/life balance, hybrid working, and full manufacturer training. You\’ll still apply your technical expertise—just in a new environment where no two days are the same.

You\’ll be joining one of the industry\’s most respected manufacturers of advanced CNC laser machine tools, supporting high-profile blue-chip clients across the UK. This role suits a Laser Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer, ideally with qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent in mechanical, electrical or optical engineering.

The Role:

  • Transition off the tools into a Helpdesk Engineer position
  • Provide remote fault-finding and technical support (product training provided)
  • Office-based (hybrid working available), Mon-Fri, 39-hour week with overtime available

The Person:

  • Experienced Laser Service or Maintenance Engineer
  • Qualified in Mechanical, electrical or Optical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent)
  • Familiar with systems such as PLC logic, Ethercat, Profinet, ASI Bus, Profibus, Siemens controls, or IndraWorks systems.
