Green Hub SEND Support Worker
Based: YMCA Derbyshire Green Hub and other YMCA sites
Salary: £22932 – £23,310 pro rata (depending on Qualification)
Hours: 18 hrs per week

This role is part of the YMCA Derbyshire Lifelong Learning team.
As part of the YMCA Key College team, you will be responsible for supporting learners who are accessing a life skills programme to a group 12 learners with SEMH needs ensuring that they can engage with learning effectively.
You will be working within a team of 3/4 people to ensure that the young people receive the education, training, and wellbeing support the require to enable them to progress into further education, employment and transition into independent living.
You may be required to work 1 to support 1 to 1 or small groups of learners.
You will be required to provide a high quality, non-judgemental, empowering, holistic service by delivering an effective and efficient service to learners and promoting a safe and caring environment.
It is our responsibility to ensure we focus on developing solutions and assets instead of just supporting problems and deficits. We must look for qualities in people that can be nurtured as assets and strengthened through new experiences. Putting plans in place that will develop these qualities and enabling people to thrive, not just supporting people to cope.
The Green hub is a new facility which is due to open in January 2026 which will enable young people to study in a small bespoke environment which is within a green space where they can do practical hands-on skills alongside core life skills and Math and English.
Duties will involve ;
Support of learners on a life skills programme to develop young people with SEMH needs to enable effective next steps into independent living, further education or employment.
Support the team in creating a learning environment were development of positive relationships and behaviours is core.
To operate as part of the broader Key college team to meet organisational needs.
To assist in ensuring compliance with all core external partner and internal organisational policies, procedures and processes.
