About Us We are a family-run Butcher shop with a long-standing tradition of providing high-quality meats and exceptional customer service, which is now part of a larger food wholesale company. The shop is known for its friendly atmosphere and commitment to excellence. We are looking for a full-time Shop Assistant to join the team and help us to supply our retail customers. About The Position The successful Shop Assistant will be dedicated and hardworking, to assist both front of house with serving customers and support the Butchers when needed. Key Responsibilities: Greeting and assisting customers with our orders. Offering advice on meat cuts, cooking methods, and portion sizes. Weighing, packaging, and labelling products accurately. Rotating stock to ensure older products are sold first. Following hygiene standards and food safety regulations. Cleaning tools, surfaces, and equipment regularly. Wearing personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves, aprons, hairnets). Keeping the shop clean and organized. Setting up attractive displays in the counter or window. Skills & Attributes: Good hand-eye coordination. Attention to detail and cleanliness. Friendly and helpful attitude. Physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting heavy items). Basic Mathematic skills for weighing and pricing. Able to handle fresh meat and other food items. Good communication skills. Self-motivated Good customer service skills.
