Role Purpose & Team Mission:
The role is responsible for establishing and leading the HR programme management office to drive strategic execution, programme governance, and delivery excellence. The role defines, structures, and oversees the portfolio of strategic HR projects aligned with the People Strategy and Plan, driving delivery discipline, and facilitating decision-making across the HR Leadership Team.
Role Purpose & Team Mission:
The role is responsible for establishing and leading the HR programme management office to drive strategic execution, programme governance, and delivery excellence. The role defines, structures, and oversees the portfolio of strategic HR projects aligned with the People Strategy and Plan, driving delivery discipline, and facilitating decision-making across the HR Leadership Team.
Key Objectives:
- Partner with HR leadership to translate the People Strategy into actionable plans and delivery outcomes, ensuring all projects align with the strategy
- Maintain oversight of the portfolio of HR initiatives and programmes, tracking status, interdependencies, risks, and outcomes
- Establish and maintain programme governance frameworks, standards, templates, and reporting mechanisms, and track all decisions across the programme portfolio
- Develop a project management toolkit and drive the adoption of project management best practices, tools and methodologies across HR to ensure consistency, quality and adherence to standards across the project portfolio
- Provide coaching in project management tools and techniques and training to HR team members
- Collaborate with project sponsors and cross-functional HR teams to define project objectives and scope, develop project roadmaps, and ensure programmes are appropriately governed, resourced, and aligned with business priorities
- Serve as a point of integration across HR projects, identifying and managing the critical path across the programme portfolio and holding project teams to account for on-time and within-budget delivery
- Establish and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility of progress against the People Strategy
- Facilitate portfolio review meetings and provide regular insights and progress updates to the CPO and HRLT, enabling pro-active decision-making
- Support the HR function business rhythm including business planning, performance tracking, leadership communiciations, quarterly business reviews and managing HR governance forums
- Draft high-quality presentation and reports for presentation to the MC
Requirements:
- Proven track record of leading HR transformation or change management initiatives managing a portfolio of multiple, complex HR projects with competing priorities
- Experience using diagnostic, consulting and project management tools and techniques
- Highly organised, with a strong bias for action, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to quickly grasp HR priorities and challenges
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to use data for decision-making
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write for executive audiences
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and strategic initiatives
- Influential and relationship-oriented, with strong collaboration and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in programme/project management methodologies
