The role
As a Capability Manager, you’ll play a key role in the Submarine Operations Centre, a joint Babcock and Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) team. You will leverage expertise and digital tools to enhance submarine maintenance management and project design, supporting waterfront project and delivery teams.
Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with SDA’s Submarine Platform Managers as a technical problem solver to ensure smooth delivery to the client.
- Provide and present complex programme and engineering data analysis to enable collaborative decision-making and improve enterprise performance.
- Lead planning and coordination activities within the Submarine Operations Centre, identifying issues affecting delivery certainty.
- Offer critical advice to stakeholders, supported by Project and Engineering teams conducting analysis.
This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). Occasional travel to Plymouth, Devon, is required.
Essential experience
- Knowledge of submarine in-service support arrangements
- Full project lifecycle experience from bid to close-out
- Experience in project management
- Ability to champion high performance and inspire others
Qualifications
- Chartership or demonstrated route to chartership in project management or engineering
