As an Internal Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with our existing non key accounts as well as developing new accounts. Your primary focus will be to ensure client satisfaction, identify growth opportunities, and drive revenue within these accounts. Alongside that you will interact with the newly formed Distribution network to agree strategies around non key account coverage. Working closely with various departments to ensure seamless service delivery and achieve our business goals. Develop opportunities coming in from web-based leads to maximise Yokogawa content. This will require someone who is self-driven with a strong track record of business development, account management and experience in closing deals. A professional and responsive approach is needed to gain credibility through integrity and technical knowledge. Whilst the role will be either home or office based, it will consist of time to time, visiting client’s facilities. Additionally, as some non-key accounts develop further into key accounts the role will transfer more into a field-based role, this is envisaged to be between an eighteen month to a two year period.

In this role you will report to the PCI Manager and your duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with non-key accounts to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Act as the main point of contact for non-key accounts, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Work with the Distribution network to ensure proactive coverage of non-key accounts from RFQ to point of sale.
  • Accurate forecasting of the business in terms of timing and chance of success.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop strategies for account growth and retention.
  • Monitor account performance, track key metrics, and prepare regular reports for management.
  • Ensure all non-key account activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and work to expand the range of services provided.
  • Utilise a good understanding of company technologies and collaborate with internal and external .

To be considered for this Business Development Manager role, you’ll have the following experience, qualifications, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  • Proven experience within a similar role within the automation industry
  • Formal technical education in a related subject (diploma or degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as electronics engineering)
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, whilst being an effective team player as part of a structured team.
  • Confident communicator with a professional manner, and the ability to absorb and impart factual information to others and work within standard operating procedures.
  • A positive self-starter with drive to achieve results whilst fully embracing Yokogawa core values.
  • Willingness to learn and expand skills knowledge.
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience of CRM systems and SAP would be an advantage.

What you can expect from us;

Salary: Level dependent on experience

Attractive benefits: Incentive scheme, company car allowance, pension with up to 12.5% company contribution, healthcare benefits package, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with increments based on length of service.

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. Flexibility will be required to meet customer and business needs.

Location: Whilst this position is home based, you will be required to travel to customer sites and to other Yokogawa offices in the UK and Europe for meetings as required.
