Position Summary

To support and/or lead the production of client proposals in line with Oceaneering\’s global commercial procedure to help grow business with existing and new clients. The Tender Manager is accountable for the technical and operational requirements for applicable tenders. It is within the commercial team, working closely with sales, business development, operations, and other relevant departments to facilitate the effective development and submission of proposals and competitive tenders to a high standard, to meet client deadlines.

Duties And Responsibilities

THE ROLE / EXPERIENCE

  1. Leads tenders for UK/Europe from start to finish adhering to established process. Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
  2. Liaise with Sales, Operations and technical Subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop tender strategies and value proposition
  3. Develop and implement compelling value proposition and strategic methodologies into the tender document
  4. Understand and write technical content relevant to the scope of work with easy-to-understand user interface text
  5. Collate and manage all requirements / inputs as requested by clients in line with the Global Commercial Procedure
  6. Facilitate and prepare content for procedural review meetings on bid strategy, cost, risk and lessons learned
  7. Prioritise multiple bids, consistently meet challenging deadlines and effectively assimilate contractual, technical and commercial information in order to provide a highly responsive level of service to meet client requirements
  8. Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the services and the documentation requirements
  9. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended requestor
  10. Analyse existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  11. Working closely with the Tender Lead and overall, UK IMDS Commercial Department to develop centralised databases, improvements and training plans
  12. Undertake any other activities as required to support business needs
  13. Identify risks, opportunities, mitigation and continuous improvement plans
  14. Participate in tender clarification meetings as required by internal and external customers
  15. After tender award, support the preparation of contract handovers to the project team
  16. Participate in tender debriefs and collate data to trend reasons for successes and failures

  7. Ensure any work-related concerns or breaches in business standards are highlighted to management in a timely manner and in accordance with any relevant procedures or processes
  8. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment
  9. Ability to understand internal and external customer needs
  10. Ensures that others involved in tenders are kept informed about developments and plans
  11. Ability to establish and maintain tender priorities
  12. Ability to plan, organise and direct the work of others
  13. Flexible approach to work schedules in line with the demands of supporting wide geographical demands across multiple time zones
  14. Experience working in multi-cultural teams

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  1. HNC/HND in a business-related subject
  2. Previous experience within a similar role or transferable skills

PREFERRED

  1. Degree or equivalent qualification
  2. Experience of working in the oil and gas sector
  3. Experience of a similar role working within a team
