About The Role
Group Commercial Services are recruiting for a Contract and Operations Manager on a full time permanent basis.
This dynamic and multifaceted role oversees both the daily operations and long-term planning of the National Learning Centre (NLC). It includes managing supplier contracts and fostering partnerships within Retailer Learning Services.
The ideal candidate will streamline processes, lead strategic and operational on-site facility projects, partner with suppliers, and uphold exceptional safety and quality standards within the facility. Strong leadership, problem-solving and organisational abilities are essential for driving site performance and achieving operational objectives.
What you could be doing:
- Overseeing effective and efficient operations of the National Learning Centre.
- Leading daily site operation to facilitate the successful delivery of learning and development courses to network delegates.
- Managing effective supplier relationships across both internal and external stakeholder groups, fostering a positive working environment whilst maintaining compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Addressing and resolving operational issues promptly, demonstrating responsiveness and proactive problem-solving to mitigate challenges as they arise, liaising with appropriate teams within Volkswagen Group where appropriate.
- Managing project budgets and resource allocation, while monitoring and improving supplier processes, workflows, and overall operational efficiency to identify LEAN opportunities.
- Leading the implementation of contractual changes, including tender processes, ensuring alignment with best practices and internal Procurement, IT & Finance requirements.

- Experience in operations management or a role of a similar nature.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Demonstrable experience managing and engaging a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Adaptability and flexibility in approach to varying situations.
- Experience managing and delivering long-term projects.
