Senior Regional Advancement Representative
This position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting a portfolio of major and deferred gift prospects to secure immediate and long‑term gift revenue. The development office is committed to diversity and inclusive excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a specific portfolio of major and deferred gift prospects (alumni, parents, friends).
- Secure major and planned gifts to support the university and its students.
- Manage the position budget.
- Attend development and advancement staff meetings as required.
- Host or attend special donor events and coordinate key events with internal constituents.
- Represent the university to various constituencies, groups, and individuals.
- Maintain an institutional record of key contacts and communications.
- Develop relationships with referral sources (attorneys, accountants, faculty, coaches, etc.) to generate leads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in major gifts, planned giving, and/or foundation work.
- Preferred: Professional certifications such as CPA, CFP, CFRE.
- Demonstrated ability to secure major and planned gifts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work with a wide range of personalities; mature judgment.
- Self‑motivated with organizational flexibility.
- Knowledge of charitable giving techniques and tax implications.
Special Working Conditions
Travel is required; evenings and weekends may be necessary for special events.
Operation of a university‑owned or leased vehicle may be required; a current driver’s license and compliance with the Fleet Vehicle Use Policy are necessary.
