They are looking to recruit an experienced Site Electrical Engineer to join a growing team delivering power and renewables projects across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties of the Site Electrical Engineer role
Reporting to the Hiring Manager you will:
Oversee the electrical elements of HV/LV infrastructure projects from design handover through to completion, ensuring quality and compliance at all stages.
Support Project and Site Managers by providing technical guidance and reviewing drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and project deliverables to align with programme milestones.
Lead on technical meetings and liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and utility providers.
Ensure all works adhere to industry standards (e.g. G81, BS7671) and project-specific regulatory conditions.
Manage and mentor site teams, including supervisors and subcontractors, to ensure safe and efficient site delivery.
Review project risks, manage resource requirements, and support commercial teams with scopes for tenders and procurement.
Assist with the development of commissioning strategies, QA checks, and compilation of test documentation.
Support the planning and compliance of street works and ensure adherence to legal and safety regulations (e.g. CDM, NRSWA, NJUG).
Attend and contribute to design reviews, HSEQ audits, and project meetings as needed.
Collaborate with sales and design teams to ensure technical viability and buildability of proposals.
Contribute to producing \’as-built\’ documentation and health & safety files at project close.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge through training, CPD, and internal competency programmes.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
5+ years of hands-on site experience working on HV/LV cable installation, earthing, and distribution systems up to 132kV.
Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs, or ICPs.
Involvement in renewable or embedded projects.
Previous AP or SAP authorisations.
Working knowledge of electrical design drawings and technical specifications.
Familiar with frameworks such as G81, Section 50, and DNO authorisations (LV/HV).
Desirable:
SAP qualified (LV & HV).
IOSH – Managing Safely.
Experience working under NEC or other standard construction contracts.
Personal skills
The Site Electrical Engineer role would suit someone who is:
Solid understanding of construction industry standards and procedures.
Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental legislation (CDM, HSG guidance, etc.).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project planning tools like MS Project.
