We’re partnering with an award-winning consultancy to support the delivery of game-changing projects for a leading UK gas distribution provider. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects that drive the future of energy across the UK.
Based in Nottingham or Warwick, you’ll work in a hybrid capacity, collaborating with senior stakeholders to validate, optimize, and elevate project schedules to meet regulatory, commercial, and technical benchmarks.
As a Senior Planning Engineer (Assurance), you will ensure that every project plan is not just accurate, but robust and reliable, enabling flawless delivery of critical gas infrastructure works. You will provide strategic assurance on schedule integrity, challenging and guiding teams to maintain the highest standards.
- Ensure Accuracy: Validate and assure project schedules, ensuring they align with project goals, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications. Identify risks and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate & Optimize: Work alongside delivery teams and stakeholders to address vulnerabilities, highlight risks, and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
- Monitor & Report: Track progress against schedules, report on variances, and suggest corrective actions to maintain project momentum.
- Uphold Standards: Safeguard project planning quality through adherence to assurance frameworks and best practices.
- Leverage Expertise: Use Primavera P6 to manage, optimize, and interrogate project timelines, critical paths, and dependencies.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in sectors such as infrastructure, utilities, or energy.
- Extensive expertise in schedule assurance, governance, and compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, with a deep understanding of WBS, earned value, and critical path analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Primavera Database management is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of working within highly regulated industries, particularly gas or utilities, is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with assurance processes, audits, and industry-leading planning standards.
