English Tutor – Regent College London
Regent College London is seeking an English Tutor to deliver high-quality teaching in English Language and English for Academic Purposes. The role involves designing and delivering engaging learning materials, supporting student progression, and contributing to programme quality. This is an on-campus position.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach lectures, seminars and tutorials across allocated modules
- Develop and update teaching materials and maintain accurate student attendance
- Support assessment design, provide formative feedback, and mark summative work to deadlines
- Monitor student engagement and signpost academic or pastoral support where needed
- Contribute to module and programme evaluations, quality assurance processes, and continuous improvement
- Engage in scholarship to maintain up-to-date subject knowledge
- Collaborate with colleagues, support curriculum development, and mentor junior staff as required
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes in higher or further education
- Strong communication, organisational and digital skills (including use of VLEs and Microsoft tools)
- Ability to engage and support diverse learners and work effectively within teams
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., DELTA, Trinity Diploma, CELTA with experience, MA TESOL/Linguistics)
- Understanding of CEFR and experience supporting student academic development
- Commitment to high academic standards, continuous improvement, and widening participation
- Willingness to work across sites and adapt to changing priorities
Desirable
- Experience with curriculum development, research or scholarly activity
- Familiarity with digital assessment tools, data tracking, or UKVI-related processes
- Academic team leadership or involvement in professional bodies
