We are partnering with an Essex based manufacturing business, who are seeking a diligent and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a sound understanding of Accounts Payable and reconciliation processes, who is keen to grow their experience and contribute to the efficient running of the department. Key Responsibilities include: Accounts Payable: Accurately post and clear supplier invoices, ensuring correct nominal coding. Reconcile supplier statements in preparation for payments. Prepare supplier payment requests for management review. Code and check VAT in line with current HMRC guidelines. Maintain accurate records to ensure payments are correctly reflected in the trial balance.Other Duties: Process employee expense claims in accordance with the company’s expense policy. Check and correctly code staff expenses. Promote a safe and compliant working environment, ensuring Health & Safety standards and practices are met in line with statutory requirements.
