Head Chef Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our clients team. In this role, youll collaborate closely with our management team to ensure continued success

Head Chef Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee food preparation processes and other related activities
  • Develop new or update existing menus to ensure variety and high-quality offerings
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
  • Lead and inspire the kitchen team
  • Plan and order necessary equipment or ingredients based on identified shortages
  • Organise repairs and resolve any issues or defects promptly
  • Take charge of hiring, training, and managing kitchen staff
  • Ensure compliance with nutritional, sanitation, and safety regulations
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food quality in the kitchen
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality products at reasonable prices
  • Ensure guests have an exceptional culinary experience
  • Monthly stock takes

The successful candidate will be required to lead in the efficient running of the kitchen service during breakfast and lunch times (both plated and buffet style) as well as with the preparation of dinner, functions, and wedding food in the kitchen. Working as part of the team they will use their skills and good communication to ensure all safe practices are maintained in line with company standards.

Contract & Hours of Work

Permanent contract

5 days a week

Breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts including weekends and bank holidays

Head Chef Requirements

Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 (if only level 2, then level 3 training will be provided)

Previous experience desirable

Full valid Driving Licence for the UK (if not living locally)

Flexibility in working hours
