About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to deliver inclusive learning experiences that meet individual needs. Whether working in a mainstream setting or a specialised SEN environment, you’ll contribute to creating a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive. SEN schools specialise in providing tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including learning difficulties, communication challenges, and physical disabilities. All schools offer a collaborative and supportive environment where staff are encouraged to develop their skills and make a meaningful difference. Key Responsibilities * Support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and classroom management * Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN * Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans * Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social skills development * Support pupils’ learning across a range of subjects and activities * Help prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials * Support pupils’ physical and emotional wellbeing during lessons and breaks * Assist with supervising pupils during lunch, break times, and on school trips * Liaise effectively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other staff to support pupil progress Requirements * Previous experience working with children in a school environment (mainstream or SEN) preferred * Understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices * Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills * Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions * Enhanced DBS clearance (or willing to apply) * 6 months working with children in the UK Why Register with Our Agency? * Access to diverse roles across Birmingham’s schools * Flexible work options to suit your availability * Support with DBS checks, paperwork, and ongoing professional development * Competitive pay rates and long-term placement opportunities Please do not hesitate to get into contact with us if you have any questions on (phone number removed)
