Civils Site Manager - Fakenham

Location: Fakenham, Norfolk Position: Civils Site Manager – Freelance Project: Fast Food Restaurant – New Build Start Date: 04/08/2025 Duration: 16-18 weeks Rate: (Apply online only)/shift (negotiable on experience) About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to oversee the groundworks and civil engineering elements of a fast food restaurant new build project in Fakenham. This role requires a proactive manager with a solid track record in delivering commercial build projects to high standards of safety, quality, and programme performance. Key Responsibilities: * Lead day-to-day site operations from groundworks through to civils completion. * Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers on-site. * Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards. * Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings. * Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, and snagging. * Liaise with project managers, engineers, and local authorities as needed. * Monitor programme milestones and contribute to schedule updates. * Ensure quality control and resolve any on-site issues promptly. Essential Requirements: * SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) * CSCS Card (Valid) * First Aid at Work (Valid) * Proven experience in managing civils packages on commercial new build projects * Strong understanding of CDM regulations and temporary works * Excellent organisational and communication skills * Ability to work independently and manage subcontractors efficiently Desirable: * Previous experience on fast food or retail units * Local to Fakenham or within a reasonable commute * Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings and groundworks layouts
