Field Service Engineer West Yorkshire Region £35k circa DOE 40 Hour Work Week (8-4.30 flexitime available) + 1.5x Overtime, Travel Time, Fuel Card, Work Van (can be used for personal use), Pension, Healthcare, Full Training and Development, 24 Days (plus bank) We are a well-established and innovative manufacturer within the materials handling sector, specialising in articulated forklift truck technology. There has now become the opportunity for a field service engineer to join the team. The Role: The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for carrying out routine service inspections, responding to breakdowns, and managing a dedicated customer base while delivering a high standard of customer service. The role involves maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring adequate van stock levels, and liaising closely with the service team and customers to provide effective product support. Engineers are expected to manage their own workload, adhere to health and safety practices, report incidents and risks, and ensure appropriate PPE and manual handling techniques are used. A proactive approach to training, risk awareness, and maintaining a safe, organised work environment is essential. About you: Proven technical expertise in materials handling or a related industry Strong experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Skilled in fault-finding, servicing, and repairs (mechanical and/or electrical) Additional qualifications such as LOLER, IPAF, or Pyroban/Miretti training (advantageous) Full UK driving licence (essential) Professional, customer-focused attitude with a strong work ethic Proactive and solutions-driven with a “can-do” approach Takes pride in delivering high-quality work to the highest standards Able to work both independently and as part of a team Confident representing the company brand in a knowledgeable and professional manner IT-literate and comfortable using technology to maintain records and place orders Innovative thinker with the ability to create practical solutions on the spot In return, you’ll receive a competitive salary, along with the opportunity to work in a supportive and understanding environment that values flexibility and work-life balance.
