Salary: £16.05 per hour (overtime paid at enhanced rate)

Location: DPD Goole, Unit 1, Plot 7 Ozone, Ozone Way, Howden, DN14 7SE

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday

Hours of Work: 08:45 – 17:30, 40 Hours Per Week (Permanent)

Job Description

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service during parcel collection and delivery.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection and delivery of parcels according to scheduled routes.
• Assist with loading and unloading parcels at the depot and customer locations.
• Manage a daily schedule of approximately 50–60 stops in your designated area.
• Utilise provided equipment, such as a sack barrow/hand truck, to safely handle heavier items.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and any issues encountered during your shift.
• Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while operating the 7.5‑tonne vehicle.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Use handheld devices and company software to update delivery statuses and communicate with the depot.
• Resolve customer queries and concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust your delivery approach accordingly.
• Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and workload distribution.
• Maintain a clean and presentable appearance, representing DPD to customers.

Qualifications

• A valid 7.5 T (C1) licence, DQC (Driver Qualification Card) and CPC accreditation.
• A clean driving record with no more than 3 penalty points.
• At least 1 year of experience driving 7.5‑tonne vehicles or similar.
• Knowledge of local road networks and traffic patterns.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to lift, load and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
• Comfortable using handheld devices and basic computer software.
• Physically fit and able to handle a demanding, physically active job.
• Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
