Overview
Housing Officer role at Onward Homes. This is a part-time permanent position in the Neighbourhoods team in Manchester. The role is predominantly home-based with occasional attendance for team meetings and collaborative working. There may be occasional working outside of regular office hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Respond to customer enquiries that require a face-to-face visit; be the visible presence of the organisation within our neighbourhoods; listen to customer views and encourage resident involvement; make recommendations for responses.
- Neighbourhood Management: Develop understanding of neighbourhood issues and opportunities; deliver and monitor neighbourhood management actions; develop partnerships with front-facing service providers; contribute to maintaining appearance and enforcing where appropriate.
- Landlord Services: Provide tenancy management services; conduct inspections of communal areas and estates; manage service charges, budgets, renewals, and resident information; visit customers in arrears to support Income team actions.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and awareness of housing regulations/law.
- Experience delivering face-to-face customer service.
- Experience developing partnership working with support agencies, local authorities and community groups.
- Good understanding of the social, economic and political context of the neighbourhoods in which we operate.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own car.
Desirable Skills
- IT skills – Microsoft Office to an intermediate level.
Qualifications
- Essential: GCSEs or equivalent qualification/experience.
