The School
The School of Computing and Engineering is a professional and student focused School with high quality teaching, student experience and research informed teaching at the top of its priority list. The Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Audio Engineering to support undergraduate teaching across our Audio Engineering courses. This fixed-term post will focus on both practical and technical elements of the subject, including studio recording and production, critical listening, digital signal processing, and audio programming.
You will:
- Deliver lectures, labs, and tutorials across creative and technical audio topics.
- Supervise student projects and support students\’ development of industry-relevant skills.
- Contribute to curriculum design and module development, ensuring alignment with current industry trends.
- Engage in scholarly activity or professional practice that supports the School\’s academic and teaching goals.
- Work collaboratively within the academic team to maintain teaching quality and support a strong student experience.
The Person
You will have:
- Practical experience in audio engineering and a strong understanding of the underlying technical principles.
- A track record of teaching in higher education, ideally in both creative and scientific aspects of audio.
- Familiarity with topics such as digital audio, DSP, studio production, and audio software development.
- A commitment to high-quality, student-centred teaching and the ability to supervise practical and research-based student work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to team teaching and curriculum development.
