Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and build cost models to support cost estimation activities required for tendering.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering Department to derive the required unit rates for cost database.
- Establish and maintain a framework to ensure the cost database is regularly updated, providing high accuracy and quick turnaround in project cost estimates.
- Continuously improve and fine-tune the cost model to meet the Company’s evolving requirements.
- Ensure all cost estimation activities adheres to Company’s procedures and industry standards.
- Guide the rest of the procurement team on established cost estimation models, enabling them to support Engineering and Commercial Teams effectively during bidding.
- Performs detailed checks on larger projects to verify the accuracy of submitted cost estimates.
- Review Contractor’s bid for high-value and complex projects and provide advice to the wider team.
- Maintain proper records of all submitted cost estimates.
- Conduct costing analysis on completed projects and unsuccessful bids to improve future project preparation.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier developments.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships on behalf of the organization.
- Support wider procurement team on RFQ activities.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
- At least 6 years of experience in cost estimation for construction or similar works
- Able to develop and program cost models using Excel or other programs
- Industry experience in utilities and/or construction sectors is preferred
- Familiarity with SAP Material Management (MM) modules is advantageous
