Abatec are currently partnered with a regional civil engineering contractor, who have secured the groundworks package on a 4b Major Project in Somerset.

Our client will provide groundworks, earthworks and a huge piling-mat-installation of over 1km in length and 750m wide, requiring approximately 1 million tonnes of aggregate. The low-lying site is far from straightforward, with a high-water table requiring the installation of further rhynes to provide natural drainage across the site.

The successful individual will have experience working on civil engineering projects with an emphasis on groundworks and earthworks. You will be responsible for supervising works and managing teams of Gangers and direct labour, as well as subcontractors, to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives.

As a Site Supervisor you will:

  • Provide supervision and coordinate the work team
  • Allocate daily responsibilities and communicate updates
  • Guarantee all safety and quality measures are met throughout the project
  • Input into the production of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments
  • Provide suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works solution
  • Identify potential hazards and proactively implement actions and controls
  • Monitor the performance of plant operators
  • Carry out Safety & Environment Tours

Our client requires a Site Supervisor with:

  • Valid CSCS Gold or above
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • CAT & Genny
  • A good understating of health & safety protocols
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A background in civil engineering

Salary and benefits include:

  • 20 per hour (circa 46k per annum based on a 9-hour day)
