- Location: DPD Newtown
- Salary: £13.00ph – overtime paid at an enhanced rate
- Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 3 days off (4 from 7)
- Hours of Work: 08:00 – 18:00

Job Description
As a Collection and Delivery Driver you will be the face of DPD, ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable parcel collection and delivery.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service when collecting or delivering parcels.
- Start each shift at the depot, load parcels efficiently into your 3.5‑tonne van.
- Follow the daily delivery schedule and manage your route to meet timing requirements.
- Operate and maintain the van safely, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Accurately scan and record parcel information using handheld devices.
- Collect signatures and other proof of delivery from customers.
- Report any delivery issues, vehicle problems or customer concerns promptly to your supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized van and conduct daily vehicle checks, reporting maintenance needs.
- Adapt delivery approach to changing weather conditions.
- Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers for smooth operations and efficient parcel sorting.
- Wear the provided uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Qualifications
To be considered for the role you must have:
- Full UK driving licence with at least 12 months of regular driving experience.
- Ability to lift, load and carry parcels weighing up to 30 kg.
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
- Good physical fitness to meet the demands of the role.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using handheld devices.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and familiar with local roads and geography.
- Strong customer‑service orientation, flexibility, friendliness and professionalism.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem‑solving and multi‑tasking abilities.
- Willingness to work to deadlines and go above and beyond the expected.
