Multi Skilled Operative
Medway/Chatham
Field Based, Full Time, Permanent Role.

MPS has been caring for residents’ homes for over 25 years. As part of the Mears Group, we offer partnership solutions and expertise in estate management and property maintenance.
Delivering a range of property services, including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance services to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide including, Orbit: one of the largest housing providers in the midlands, east Anglia and the southeast.
We are now seeking a Multi Skilled Operative to join MPS in support of our ongoing partnership with Orbit; now in its thirteenth year providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.
About The Role
As a Multi Skilled Operative with MPS you will be out supporting residents with reactive repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of properties, working from ‘job’ to ‘job’, on your planned route with a wide range of general repairs and maintenance task, mostly Plumbing works.
You’ll need plenty of previous experience and a positive ‘can do’ attitude to excel in this role, meeting new people and delivering high standards of work and service are key.
Although our office is based in Tonbridge, there is travel in and around Medway/Chatham also. A company van and fuel card are provided for the travel.
Role Criteria
- Extensive on the job experience in multiple trades such as Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, Tiling, Plastering etc.
- Hold a Full UK Driving License
- Have own hand tools – power tools provided
- Be a great team player as well the ability to work under your own initiative
- Excellent communication and Customer service skills
- Ideally hold a trade qualification especially if you don\’t have much first hand experience
- Preferable experience with floor laying- vinyl
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your license over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
