Buyer – Northern Home Counties – Residential

Job Overview

A residential developer specializing in luxury, high-end traditional build houses and apartments is seeking a Buyer to support their commercial team in the Northern Home Counties Region.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the procurement team on current and new residential developments.

Responsibilities include procuring materials to meet the build program, hiring plant and equipment, compiling monthly reports on budgeting control, resolving supplier disputes, and supporting the estimating team with pre-tender quotations.

Key responsibilities:

• Procuring brickwork, carpentry, and sanitary materials
• Hiring plant and equipment (e.g., cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes)
• Compiling monthly reports on budgeting control for all materials
• Resolving supplier disputes
• Supporting the estimating team with pre-tender quotations and resolving material specification issues

Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of procurement experience with a residential property developer
• Experience procuring materials for new build developments
• Knowledge of construction techniques
• Comprehension of building, environmental, and disability standards
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
• Proven track record with stable UK employment and exposure to residential construction with a recognized developer or company

Salary: up to £50,000 plus package
