Our client is a leading Insurance provider in the State of Washington and Idaho.

This role is responsible for prospecting and selling policies and packages customized to meet the needs of our members and customers through member and internet lead calls while complying with carrier underwriting guidelines, agency policies and procedures and state regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sell and make recommendations on all insurance products offered by the carriers represented by our client\’s Insurance Agency
• Develop sales opportunities through the use of the Lead Management, Membership system, and other lead sources while increasing overall sales and the percentage of member households purchasing Insurance products.
• Respond to all quote requests in a timely manner according to agency procedures.
• Identify, evaluate, and provide resolutions to customer’s insurance needs.
• Ensure that all business is underwritten correctly and placed in the appropriate markets according to the risk involved in order to maintain an acceptable loss ratio.
• Ensure that company Agency Management System and carrier system is appropriately documented and all applications are complete and submitted on a timely basis in accordance with insurance carrier guidelines, agency policies and procedures, as well as state regulations.
• Perform appropriate follow-up calls and renewal reviews to meet agency retention standards.
• Demonstrate the ability to consistently meet and exceed personal sales goal and contribute to the agency sales goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Class A Agents typically have 2+ years’ experience in sales (not retail) or sales management or 1+ years’ experience in an insurance agency and are assigned a book value expectation of under $100,000

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven ability to perform to goal with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
• Successful track record of growth, may include sales prospecting, asking for and closing a sale.
• Knowledge of sales techniques, property/casualty products, life insurance products and insurance processing systems and procedures as well as comparative raters.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Possess or be able to obtain a Washington State Property, Casualty, Life and Disability Insurance license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Developing knowledge of personal and commercial lines and life insurance including fundamental insurance principles, underwriting and risk selection, and policy provisions and coverage for all agency carriers.
• Ability to type and working knowledge of computers, MS Suite and the internet. Competency using agency & carrier applications and systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally, one on one and in group presentation, in writing, and utilizing effective listening skills.
• A strong sense of urgency and willingness to take extra measures when solving problems and getting work completed.
• Ability to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict, relate positively to people in stressful situations, and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to address multiple demands and adjust style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, simultaneous demands or transitions into new assignments.
• Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.
• Willing to take extra measures and independent action to solve problems and get work done when the situation calls for it while holding self and others accountable.
• Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others.
• Models a high standard of quality and commitment to serving the public to include building strong relationships with members inside and outside the organization while developing trust and credibility with the members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Onsite required for the first 6-9 months, then hybrid.

• The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.

Travel: Minimal travel (<25%) may be required.
