MCS Group is delighted to recruit on behalf of a fast-growing local manufacturing company, who is seeking a Commercial Bid Executive to join its Sales/Commercial team in Ballymena.

This is a key role focused on generating high-quality leads, quotations, and bid proposals for major clients in the transport and automotive sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end proposal process with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare client proposal packs including quotation letters, presentations, and tender documents.
  • Interpret customer requirements and respond effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Use online tender portals to upload well-structured, commercially accurate information (training provided).
  • Estimate manufacturing costs based on customer specifications, liaising with suppliers for pricing as needed.
  • Interpret contract requirements and compile reports detailing key commercial aspects.
  • Draft deal sheets for review and approval by senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain records of historical pricing to support accurate and justifiable quotations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet tight deadlines.
  • Communicate directly with clients across a range of commercial matters.
  • Support Commercial and Sales leadership in capturing and translating customer needs into compelling bid proposals.
  • Organise and manage bid and tender documentation for internal reference.
  • Ensure internal systems are up-to-date with tender and quotation records.
  • Assist in compiling and drafting business reports as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of an HND / NVQ Level 5 in a business-related discipline or 3 years\’ experience in a similar commercial or bid-focused role.
  • Proven experience in bid writing and quotation preparation.
  • Strong understanding of bid processes and commercial practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and confident in managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
