Overview
As our Roadside Recovery Driver, you’ll go the extra mile for our customers, helping to load vehicles onto the truck and get the vehicle and customer to a garage or other destination as needed. You’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation, ready for anything and providing reliable, on‑the‑spot assistance in various weather conditions.
What will I be doing?
- A communicator: You’ll be great with customers, calming, reassuring, and professional in all situations to ensure their needs are taken care of.
- A self-starter: You will work independently as well as part of a team, driving to different locations in all weathers.
- A fixer/problem solver: You’ll use your expertise to solve a variety of issues swiftly and safely.
What do I need?
- Live within 25 miles or 1 hour travel from the depot (postcode included in advert).
- A full driving category C licence (HGV 2). Ideally CE (HGV 1) licence as well, though not essential as we can help you obtain it.
- Driver CPC qualification and a digital tachograph card.
- Comfort with adapting to new technology; training will be provided.
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Location, shifts and benefits
- Depot postcode: MK12 5QD.
- Shifts: Rolling roster, 18 out of 28 days with 2 weekends off. Standard shifts are 9 hours 45 minutes (including a 45‑minute break). End of shift flexibility may require up to 12 hours in a shift including break.
- Perks: Full uniform, boots, and equipment; free breakdown cover from day one; holidays (equivalent of 23 days, increasing with service); up to 7% company pension contribution; dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and 24/7 remote GP service.
