Trainee Control Room Operator

Description
We are seeking a Trainee Control Room Operator at our Hope Cement Works in Derbyshire. The role involves working within a multi-disciplined shift team after an initial training period of 6 to 12 months. The training program, which lasts between two to four years depending on the candidate\’s existing skills, combines on-the-job training, in-house, and external courses. The goal is to enable the trainee to become proficient in all CCR operations, achieving Level 2 certification, and progressing to Level 3 certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate plant including cement mills, raw mills, coal mills, and kiln line on a daily basis
- Sample cement and raw materials according to lab schedule
- Operate plant within environmental limits at all times
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing processes is advantageous
- Understanding of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental issues
- Experience working in a team and in shift roles
- Good communication skills
- Problem-solving abilities
- Initiative and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft software at user level
- Ability to work in a high-profile role with periods of sustained focus and flexibility regarding working hours
