The Manheim Finance Team plays a pivotal role within the broader Cox Automotive UK finance function. As a trusted business partner, our purpose is to provide expert financial support and insight that empowers informed decision‑making, drives business value, and effectively manages risk.

Our team delivers a comprehensive suite of services, including:

  • Accounting – ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) – offering insight and foresight through budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Business Partnering – working closely with operational teams to support strategic initiatives and drive financial performance

Centrally based at our Head Office in Leeds, we support all locations within the Manheim network, helping to ensure financial excellence and operational efficiency across the UK. This role will lead financial accounting, tax, and compliance across Cox Automotive Europe’s non‑UK operations, covering a diverse footprint that currently spans Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, and Poland.

Operating at the heart of a fast‑moving, digital B2B marketplace, these businesses facilitate vehicle transactions from nine European selling countries to buyers in more than 30 countries across the region – making this a high‑impact role with significant international reach and complexity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead financial accounting, tax, and compliance for Cox Automotive Europe’s non‑UK entities, ensuring full compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple European jurisdictions, ensuring accurate filings and timely payments.
  • Partner with UK and US tax teams to support international tax and group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure transfer pricing policies are consistently applied and remain appropriate as European legislation evolves.
  • Maintain compliance with local invoicing and e‑invoicing requirements, ensuring systems and processes remain up to date.
  • Manage treasury activities, including cash‑flow forecasting and intercompany funding.
  • Oversee balance sheets for all non‑UK entities, ensuring accurate monthly reporting and high‑quality reconciliations.
  • Own statutory accounts, audits, and financial statements for all in‑scope European entities, managing internal teams and external advisors.
  • Work closely with Management Accounting and FP&A teams to deliver integrated financial support to the European businesses.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying efficiency opportunities and supporting strategic projects across the European and UK businesses.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Strong technical accounting background, ideally gained within a recognised accounting firm.
  • High levels of diligence with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong IT capability, with the ability to work across multiple systems; experience with Business Central / MS Dynamics is an advantage.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Clear, confident communicator, able to work effectively with international stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of EU financial regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience coordinating EU statutory accounts and audit processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of the EU tax landscape is advantageous.
