The Editorial Graphics Producer (EGP) leads the editorial production of on-air insert graphics for live or taped studio programming. The EGP collaborates with Content Producers, Coordinating Producers, Graphic Operators, Designers, Directors, Researchers and News Editors on programming such as SportsCenter, Get Up, First Take or sport-specific studio programming. The EGP effectively uses a variety of graphic styles, assets, technology platforms, and support resources to produce creative and editorially sound graphics that support daily content production.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the accurate creation or supervising the accurate creation of written content, visual content and statistics under tight deadlines in a live broadcast environment.
• Shape and enhance storylines using excellent editorial judgment and clear, concise written content.
• Understand and support the coverage of different sport categories and content types.
• Check and proof graphics for grammar, spelling, clarity and impact under tight deadlines during live productions.
• Communicate effectively and clearly across the production, editorial, creative and technology departments to ensure the highest levels of execution and best on-air product.
• Responsible for executing sponsorship and promotional obligations required in each show.
• Responsible to uphold the highest levels of creativity and news judgment regarding content covered.
• Responsible for collaborating with Managers, Senior Editorial Graphic Producers and partners to develop and improve the graphic production approach for individual show responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in sports news graphic production.
• Thorough day-to-day knowledge of sports news, information, and history with the skill to produce content in short, specific and concise messages that are easily comprehended and digested by the viewing audience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, drive content, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively across partners.
• Has strong knowledge of sports production processes and the ability to interpret and create compelling editorial graphics for ESPN’s sports news programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Control Room Experience in a live environment.
• Experience building graphics for Linear, Social or Digital productions.
• Has knowledge regarding technological advances relative to graphics content, content and delivery.
Required Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Information:
• Position requires ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• This is a Bristol, CT based position.
