Caretaker - Full-time/Part-time

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are looking to recruit a Caretaker who is able to multitask in a busy primary school situated in Whitstable. General site maintenance and site security are the main focus of the role which is initially being offered on a temporary basis with a review by the 31st December 2025 due to the current incumbant taking a sebatical. You will be reporting to the Area Business Manager., We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who demonstrate commitment and passion to assist us in ensuring that our children strive to be the best they can be.

Previous experience of working within a school environment is desirable, but not essential. You will need a ‘can do’ attidude, as well as be organised, reliable, able to prioritise work and follow instructions. General repairs, decorating, driving the school minibus, receiving deliveries and porterage are among some of the varied tasks of this important and valued role. You should be able to demonstrate your understanding, knowledge and prior experience within these areas.

Ideally, this is an all year round job, 5 days a week working Monday – Friday. The hours for the position are from 7am until 3.30pm (3pm on a Friday), with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break. Part-time / term time only might be considered.
