We’ve making a significant investment in our automation technology at our 900,000 sq ft Castle Donington Distribution Centre and because of this we now need an Electrically biased Multi Skilled Engineer to join our team who will support with our boxed expansion programme.
All the details
The role will be pivotal to our transformation and investment programme and will allow for involvement and exposure to some of the most groundbreaking automation. Our Engineers are essential to ensuring everything runs efficiently onsite, and carry out reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance on both our electrical and mechanical automated equipment. Using information from different sources and systems, analysing the data to identify under-performing equipment, striving to improve reliability and performance through continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis!
Our Engineers work a shift pattern which involves a mixture of earlies 6.00am to 18.00pm and through the nights 18.00pm to 6.00am with blocks of 4 and 5 rest days across the 4-week rotating shift pattern – see job profile for more details.

What You’ll Do
Your key accountabilities will include
- Work with a team of Engineers, Inspections Technicians and Senior Engineers to resolve reactive breakdowns, carry out planned preventative and corrective maintenance in a highly automated environment.
- Use root cause analysis tools to drive reliability through delivery of continuous improvement projects
- Put health and safety first continually raising awareness of hazards and resolving potential safety issues
- Work collaboratively and liaise with other site functions ensuring we deliver for our customers every day
- Develop yourself and others with the support of our onsite Training Team
Who You Are
Your skills and experience will include
- You will need to be multi-skilled, and be able to provide evidence of recognised training in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering i.e ONC/HNC level qualification
- Engineering experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment or similar and have previously a recognised Apprenticeship in an appropriate Engineering field
- Able to demonstrate a continuous improvement approach and be able to deal with conflicting priorities with ease in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
- Enjoy mentoring and developing others and working as part of a team to achieve tangible results
- Good knowledge and understanding of CMMS systems/databases and comfortable working at heights of 25 metres
