Train Crew Controller – Birmingham CrossCountry Trains are looking for a Train Crew Controller to work as part of our control team, managing the on the day requirements for our on board crew, responding to delays and service disruption in real time and ensuring minimal disruption to our customers. Your role within the team will also involve liaising with on-train colleagues, local managers, and Control colleagues to ensure delivery of the timetabled train plan. This role does involve working shift patterns which could cover mornings, afternoon and nights and weekend working. The role will include: Managing the on the day requirements for on board crew Monitoring late running and disruption and re deploying where necessary to recover CrossCountry\’s Train Service Administering absence, and proactively responding to ensure robust crew coverage. Recording crew related issues in the company log. To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate: A strong customer focus and capability to work outside traditional routines. Wide experience in passenger train operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Great interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate the activities of a multidisciplinary team. Strong IT Systems experience to ideally include TRUST, CCF, Datasys Log and Integrale. Please note this is a safety critical role and will require the successful candidate to undertake a medical, including drug and alcohol testing You will oversee the activities of all CrossCountry Traincrew, including Drivers, Train Managers, Senior Conductors, Revenue Protection Inspectors, Retail Service Managers, First Class Hosts, Service Centre Team Members, Cleaners and Platform Staff. This role is part of a long-term change to continuously improve how we deliver our train service to our customers, striving to run a Right Time Railway. Please note this is a safety critical role and will require the successful candidate to undertake a medical, including drug and alcohol testing Closing date for applications: 31st January 2025 .
