Recruitment experts Optime are searching for reliable, proactive, and physically capable Night Train Cleaners to support our esteemed client at their depot in Filton, Bristol. This vital role ensures trains are cleaned and prepared to the highest standards overnight, ready for service the next day.

What\’s on offer:
- Rate of pay: £14.34 per hour
- Shift Pattern (Full-time): 4 on 4 off
- Shift Times: 21:00pm to 06:00am
- Weekly Pay
- FREE on-site parking at Filton depot
- Temp to Perm opportunity (performance-based)
Key Duties:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain a tidy environment inside the train
- Inspect and report any damages, graffiti, or vandalism to the appropriate authorities for prompt resolution.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, ensuring that all necessary materials are on hand to perform daily tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
- Follow procedures for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Work across a large site, involving extensive walking throughout the shift.
- Clean trains both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Additional information:
- You will need to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test prior to starting in this role.
- You will also be required to complete a Local Track Safety Awareness (LTSA) training course.
Requirements:
- You must have Right to Work in the UK.
- Previous cleaning experience preferred but not essential – full training provided.
- Comfortable working night shifts and being on your feet for extended periods.
- Physically able to carry out manual tasks (e.g. bending, lifting, wiping at height).
- A strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Must be willing to undergo a Basic DBS Check (criminal record check).
PLEASE NOTE: This role involves working independently and as part of a team during night hours. Reliability and commitment are essential.
