SEO Strategist (Remote UK) at Directive
Directive Consulting is the leading B2B performance marketing agency that delivers real revenue—not just leads. We use Customer Generation to cut through the noise and build marketing engines that win in SaaS and across B2B industries. This remote role is part of our UK team and requires candidates to be based in the United Kingdom, working local business hours GMT/BST. While the primary client base is in the UK, there are also some international clients.
About The Role
The Content Strategist is a crucial, client-facing role responsible for day-to-day client deliverables, creating and managing custom client strategies, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. The Strategist handles more Enterprise clients and should have a deep understanding of the service line and how it impacts other areas of business to create a holistic marketing strategy. Please note: internally, this role is titled Account Strategist, Content & SEO.
What You\\\’ll Do
- Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Create custom strategies and implement best practices to achieve NSMs. Build the initial client strategy from the project phase and adapt it over the client relationship using Directive best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Associate Director (AsD) when roadblocks arise affecting strategy and goals.
- Content and Campaigns: Craft creative briefs and content campaigns using competitor and audience insights.
- Key metrics and frameworks: Apply practices such as LTV:CAC modeling, Customer Generation, Share of SERP, and Content Production.
- Goal Setting: Use data to set client goals during engagement; goals are approved by the Associate Director (AsD) and presented with the AsD.
- Data sources: Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush, Ahrefs.
- Project Management: Ensure strategy execution. Use Asana; delegate tasks to team members and clients; collaborate with Project Managers to meet deadlines; coordinate with content writers and designers to deliver quality content on time.
- Internal and External Communication: Build relationships with clients and provide proactive updates to clients and internal leadership. Communicate timelines, progress, and deliverables, using channels like Slack between bi-weekly meetings.
- Reporting: Regularly report progress and impact to clients with a cadence of bi-weekly meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and bi-annual business reviews.
What You\\\’ll Bring
- A proven track record of implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
- Analytical insight: ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics with tools like Google Analytics.
- Strong communication skills: comfortable in client-facing roles and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
- Proven organizational, project, and time-management skills.
- Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content.
- Agency experience required; B2B tech and/or SaaS experience preferred.
