Overview
The Counter Fraud Investigator is responsible for the day-to-day investigations across the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Driver/Rider/Vehicle environments. This role will primarily work with Driver related investigations, though you will need to be highly adaptable and flexible to business needs as they arise.
Responsibilities
- Adopting the role of “Lead Investigator” when allocated, with the responsibility of planning, preparing, and managing the investigations to a criminal standard based on evidence.
- Ensuring investigations are conducted in an evidence-based manner.
- Investigating all allocated reports of suspected theory and/or practical driving tests (including impersonations and technology-assisted cheating at tests) and malpractice against the agency.

About you
To be successful in this role you will need the following experience:
- Knowledge & experience in managing and investigating criminal investigations to tight deadlines.
- Knowledge & experience of conducting criminal investigations in line with PACE, CPIA and the Scottish equivalents of CPA, Common Law.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in varying circumstances and the ability to handle conflicting situations.
- Confidence in building solid working relationships at all levels; a team player who collaborates to achieve goals.
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to business requirements and strategic direction.
If not already held, applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to work towards an Advanced Professional Certificate in Investigative Practice at Level 7 when in post.
