About the team and the role

Ocado Retail is looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Lead to join the Digital Marketing team. The Digital Marketing Lead reports directly to the Head of Digital Marketing and works alongside the Marketing Technology Lead and Digital Campaigns Manager to deliver innovative campaigns that acquire new customers. The role manages the in-house biddable media team and external agencies across PPC, Social Media, Display, and Affiliate marketing, working with significant budgets to drive growth and reshape customer experience in the grocery sector. What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor the digital marketing team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Manage significant budgets, optimizing for customer lifetime value and profitability
  • Develop new processes and improve ways of working within the digital marketing team and with other departments
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Insights teams
  • Create innovative, data-driven, customer-focused digital marketing campaigns
  • Continuously improve through A/B testing, data analysis, and experimentation
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insights to stakeholders
  • Identify new opportunities and emerging trends in digital marketing
  • Manage relationships with external agencies and partners to ensure quality and learning

  • A digital marketing expert with experience in a fast-paced consumer environment
  • Proven leadership of high-performing teams and cross-departmental collaboration skills
  • A problem solver with a positive attitude and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Highly analytical and commercially savvy
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing channels such as PPC, Paid Social, YouTube, Display, and Affiliates
  • Successful track record managing large campaigns and budgets
  • Deep understanding of platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and Affiliate platforms
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong grasp of attribution models and web analytics tools
  • A strategic, results-oriented mindset with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with high attention to detail
