As a Lecturer in hairdressing, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, engaging, and industry-relevant lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to further education students.
Kidderminster College is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified professional to take on the role of Lecturer in Hairdressing – 0.6 timetable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high-quality programmes within our further education Hairdressing provision, which is tailored to industry trends and local need. We have had a tremendous increase in the number of learners wanting to study hair at Kidderminster college, along with the introduction and growth of our barbering qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3.
The role also includes programme administrative responsibilities to ensure effective course management. A key focus will be supporting learners in developing employability skills relevant to the industry, promoting independence, and preparing them for progression into employment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong vocational background, with proven experience in developing learners\’ technical and employability skills. They will hold industry relevant qualifications, alongside a post-16 teaching qualification or a commitment to achieving this within an agreed timeframe. Level 2 English and maths qualifications are essential, or the candidate must be willing to attain them.
In addition to delivering lessons, you will track and monitor students\’ progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies to help them improve. Motivating students and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment will be key to building their confidence and keeping them engaged. Collaboration with parents, guardians, and educational staff will be essential to ensure student success, with regular communication and recommendations for improvement.
