Main Duties and Accountabilities

  • Working with the Head of Category to define the brand strategies within each of your categories, taking into consideration suppliers, competition, market size, share, growth and trends.
  • Develop and optimise the product range, positioning products within various quality and brand tier levels and looking for opportunities to consolidate the offer.
  • Reviewing lost sales and conversion data to support development of core product offer.
  • Ownership of Product data maintenance via various systems, including Autopart and Product Information Management System (PIMS), to support sales channels including online catalogue and website.
  • Working with the Procurement team to identify the best sources for the products and brands within the categories to ensure that group objectives are achieved in terms of sales and margin.
  • Effectively manage the lifecycle of your categories and ensure that the stock profiling programme is relevant for the needs of the business, liaising with Supply Chain to ensure good product availability.
  • Working with the Pricing team to ensure that the category pricing is positioned correctly for the market while maximising the volume vs revenue mix.
  • Supporting Marketing in the development of compelling product material and promotional campaigns to drive category sales.
  • Engaging with Sales teams to understand business and market requirements to assist with development and growth within a product group.
