Graduate Engineering Business Support

Location: Lincoln

Salary: 28,000 – 30,000

Our Client is devoted to advancing science, acquiring and inventing new technology, and using it to help our customers solve challenges in business and society. They serve an immense range of applications, providing technologies vital to industrial growth markets.

The Graduate Engineering Business Support will work with cross-functional teams (supply, projects, engineering) to collate and input material information into the ERP system to build accurate product BOMs. The role will support the maintenance and updating of engineering drawing borders and documentation, with the opportunity to gain exposure to mechanical design through occasional involvement in live projects – helping you develop practical technical skills and understanding.

Responsibilities:

Examining documents such as drawings, change requests, specifications, and forms to verify compliance, completeness, and accuracy.

Conferring with document originators to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.

Posting changes to records, releasing documents, updating parts in ERP system, and notifying affected departments.

Maintaining databases of all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents.

Performing clerical typing duties to generate documents as necessary.

Supporting maintenance and update of engineering drawings

Creating change documents (requests, orders, notices, etc.).

Creating part numbers and enters part numbers and BOMs in ERP system.

Liaising with Procurement and other relevant stakeholders on BOM issues and reports.

Contacting company personnel at all organisational levels to gather information and prepare reports.

Conducting light research, analysing data, determining approach with some guidance, compiling and preparing reports/recommendations.

Researching and collecting part environmental compliance information and entering it into ERP system and/or database.

Preparing other various reports and memorandums.

About you:

Degree in Engineering / Business Management.

Understanding of some aspects of Engineering / Manufacturing processes.

Familiarity with ERP / SAP software – desirable but not essential.
