DESCRIPTION

Amazon Grocery Logistics (AGL) is looking for Services Procurement Program Managers with proven procurement and project management experience. At Amazon, we strive to be Earth’s most customer-centric company where people can find and discover anything they want to buy online. In this fast-paced, high-growth environment, making data-driven decisions is critical. The Services Procurement team supports nationwide Amazon Grocery Logistics services programs for Stores, Fulfillment Centers, and Distribution Centers. This role requires the management of new and existing procurement programs, scoping and creating project plans, coordinating and driving execution, and clear communication to senior management. Cross-team coordination, program management, and procurement skills are essential.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Manage new and existing procurement programs, successfully delivering results across multiple Amazon organizations.
  2. Influence design and development of strategic procurement programs.
  3. Recognize and resolve issues and provide hands-on support to ensure procurement programs operate successfully across all locations.
  4. Own program communication, accelerating progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers, escalating as appropriate.
  5. Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions.
  6. Work directly with external providers, customers, and partner teams to craft and deliver scalable solutions.
  7. Maintain service levels across multiple vendors/providers ensuring services.
  8. Own and execute large-scale process improvement opportunities within new business launches and existing processes and controls, including defining scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  9. Utilize standard analytical tools to analyze business metrics for optimization and derive actionable recommendations to meet business and procurement objectives.
  10. Manage or coordinate tactical procurement services and daily operations including Purchase Orders and Invoice management.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage new and existing procurement programs, delivering desired results across multiple Amazon organizations. Examples of nationwide procurement programs we support include Janitorial services, Pest Control, Powered Equipment, Waste/Recycling Streams, Security, PPE Supplies, as well as many other services categories.
  2. Drive supplier relationship development by holding regular business reviews to assess performance and areas of opportunity.
  3. Influence design and development of strategic procurement programs.
  4. Create and manage program communication, accelerating progress by driving clear and timely decisions, removing obstacles and escalating as appropriate.
  5. Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects and using this data to drive/influence business decisions.
  6. Work directly with external providers, customers, and partner teams to create and deliver scalable solutions.
  7. Execute and own large-scale process improvement opportunities within new business launches existing processes and controls, including defining scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
  8. Utilize numerous standard analytical tools to analyze business metrics for optimization and derive actionable recommendations to meet business and procurement objectives.
  9. Ensure service levels across multiple vendors/providers ensuring quality services. This includes management of day-to-day program escalations such as vendor concerns, vendor performance support, scoping changes, and many other day-to-day field team needs across the services portfolios.
  10. Develop and manage tactical procurement services and daily operations including Purchase Orders and Invoice management.
  11. Recognize and resolve issues and provide hands-on support to ensure procurement programs operate successfully across all locations.

A Day in the Life

Every day is different as a Program Manager. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively on projects, which may be at different stages of the project lifecycle, from development to delivery. You might spend your morning gathering data and feedback to assess a programme pilot, then spend your afternoon discussing a resourcing plan for another project. You will collaborate with other teams, track project progress, and share updates with key stakeholders. Amazon is a data-driven business, so no matter which project you are implementing, part of your role will involve gathering insights to make decisions. You’ll trial different ideas, analyze data to identify potential challenges, and present your findings to senior teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
  • Experience in program or project management.
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
  • Experience defining and executing program requirements.
  • Experienced in designing and implementing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the Amazon data warehouse.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • Experience leading process improvements.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
  • Experienced in building program reporting mechanisms.
