We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and responsible Junior School Support Assistant to provide ancillary support for teaching staff and pupils within our Junior School from August 2025 to June 2026. The role will be 16 hours per week, term-time only, Wednesday to Friday from 7.30 am to 12.45 pm.
The Junior School Support Assistant is designed to provide an opportunity for an individual to gain experience working with children in a formal setting. Interested candidates may include, but are not limited to, those wishing to pursue a future career in teaching or childcare-related disciplines.

The Ideal Candidate
As the role involves working with nursery-aged children, we prefer candidates eligible for registration with the SSSC. A willingness to undertake registration is essential if not currently held.
Additional Information
Heriot’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership.
